The categories „ordinary“, Special and Shape Based
In the ready colored versions of the patterns that are displayed on the website, you see that some designs have the word „special“ in their name, while others do not. Here is what this means, and also a third design definition which only appears in unique, one-off bespoke creations.
Just color name and number
A color version that is just the pattern name, color name and number. This is a seamless, continuous pattern with a monochromatic background in one color tone. This type of pattern can be applied to any shape of loudspeakers without much effort.
Despite that, it is possible to manage the scaling of the seamless pattern, so that the units in the pattern can be small or large, or anything in between.
“Special”
A color version where the word “special” is added at the end. This is a seamless, continuous pattern in its fundamentals, where the background color is created with special effects that are based on the form and dimensions of the speaker for which the cover is made. This can be a raster in sections, circular forms where the speaker cones are for instance, or a pillar of raster on the vertical front edges of a speaker, and such. Thus, the background that is created for a horizontal center channel speaker or a cube shaped subwoofer, in a surround sound multi-channel home cinema speaker set, cannot be used unchanged on a bookshelf speaker, and even less on a tall, vertical floorstanding speaker.
Shape based
This is a unique creation that is created for a particular loudspeaker in dimensions that are known before the design is created. The patterns and shapes follow in some way the unique shape of the loudspeaker (or electronic audio component if and when designs for those will also be offered). If the loudspeaker for which the creation is intended is changed in the middle of the project, then it is possible that the creation cannot be used, if the new speaker is considerably different in dimensional proportions. It may be needed to rework the creation from the beginning.
A shape-based creation is only found in bespoke creations, obviously. However, a bespoke creation can also be a seamless pattern, either with a monochromatic background or a “special” background (which would be more common). The pattern or pattern version is created exclusively for one customer and will not be offered to any other customer, as it is a bespoke creation.
